change, the only variable...
welcome to the relaunch of the apex coaching blog
I will add to this on a periodic basis, occassional rant, more often coaching news and tips, usually with humour, and always to engage and encourage your feedback
my life purpose has changed from the dynamics of pure financial advising to coaching, which is much closer to my heart and core values
If you are considering your life direction, identify what it is that gets you out of bed in the morning, what turns you on and keeps you going, and if you can, develop that into a business-if of course you want the benefits
and challenges
of self-employment
now I wake up in the morning and I approach each new day with renewed vigour and zest for life
my life is not about making a fast buck from clients, it's about adding value to their lives, and
we both
feeling better for doing so
remember if in, or out, of the corporate world
you can't take it with you, so enjoy yourself while you're here...
how about you-do you work 9-5, do you enjoy it, are you looking for a change-and would you do so in the current economic climate?
questions, questions...
have a great day

job applications and manners
What is the biggest bugbear in applying for a job?
I am sure that many come to mind
However the one that is usually brought up by clients is the non-receipt of applications by the recruitment agency or more commonly, the potential employer
Have HR staff never applied for a job? Aren't they aware of the effort and sheer hard work that goes into creating an application; CV, application form-pages & pages...) and supporting statements?
It is my personal belief that ever since the department was changed from 'Personnel' to 'Human Resources', the humane side was quietly dropped
Another management term is 'Human Capital' - how friendly is that?
I guess in the current economic slowdown there is a glut of applicants to choose from, but this will not always be the case, they may also argue that they don't have the time to reply-well there's a new job created then
I believe it is pure bad manners, by both the individual and organisation responsible
Who is to say that the applicant will not one day be a client, supplier or even the new MD/owner?
In the meantime they may be a current or potential (buying) customer and if I were in the same situation, I would take my custom elsewhere
So, HRD etc etc what do you think, am I being fair?
