but have teaching standards fallen, because periodically the media report that young adults lack basic knowledge in the two fundamental skills of Maths and English?

teachers do a great job but with classes of >30 students there is litle time for 121 support, so businesses (oft quoted) Tesco & Sainsburys need to re-teach new employees these skills before they can start basic training

a lot of this is down to a lack of self confidence ~ remember when you were at school yourself ~ did you always raise your hand if you were unsure?  maybe

after working with children should I find that their basic knowldge is still lacking, there is a structured home study support programme ~ Maths and English ~ which has been shown to improve knowledge, performance and self-confidence, and addressing issues at an early stage really does help restore self-belief and general wellbeing
